Purchased as a set of postcards, PC 00614, PC 00615, PC00616, PC 00617 and PC 00618 all appear to be by the same photographer, and have the same style of handwritten titles on them. Three of the cards have AZO stamp boxes and the other two have the word DEFENDER above and below a simple diamond shape, thus dating them to between 1910 and 1920. I was told that there was a blizzard in February of 1914, but have never been able to find any additional information on this.

The original photo for this postcard is in the Pictou Historical Photographs Society collection and can be viewed online at http://www.novastory.ca/cdm/singleitem/collection/phps/id/148/rec/104 in the Nova Story website. That site identifies the location as in front of the fire station on Church Street.

This photo gives the impression that there was still a lot of wind when the photo was taken.
